Long before Always with Love Pet Care had a name, it began with a feeling familiar to anyone who deeply loves their animals: we wanted to be able to leave our own little zoo and still enjoy our time away.
Our household was more than most friends, relatives, or neighbors could reasonably manage. We knew the traditional “friends, family, and neighbor” plan was built on trust, but we also knew love alone did not always provide the experience, organization, or backup needed to care for a home full of animals. We wanted something more—for our own furkids and for other families who felt the same way.
So, in 2008, we started building it.
Built from the care we wanted for our own furkids
We began as part of a pet-care franchise, but the purpose was always deeply personal. We wanted to create a company filled with people who had the experience to reduce the chances of something going wrong—and enough love in their hearts to care for someone else’s furkids as if they were their own.
That vision became the foundation for everything that followed. Since 2008, we have cared for thousands of dogs and cats, along with reptiles, guinea pigs, snakes, tarantulas, and many other wonderfully unique companions. We have helped hundreds of families spend meaningful time with their human families, travel for work, celebrate milestones, respond to emergencies, and simply take a well-earned break while their furkids remained safe, comfortable, and loved at home.
We did not set out simply to build a pet-sitting company. We set out to build the kind of care we wished existed for our own family.
Experience matters most when care is complicated
Over the years, “pet care” has often meant far more than filling a bowl or taking a walk. We have cared for cats with feeding tubes, furkids undergoing chemotherapy, and dogs experiencing multiorgan failure. We have arranged around-the-clock care for animals with exceptionally high needs. We have spent nights in emergency veterinary hospitals with critically ill pets and stayed beside furkids until their pawrents could get home, so they would not be alone in their final moments.
We have shed tears. We have grieved beside our clients. We have celebrated recoveries that felt miraculous and carried the memories of those we could not save. This work asks us to enter people’s lives during vacations and celebrations—but also during illness, family emergencies, and heartbreaking goodbyes.
There is no version of this responsibility that we take lightly.
Trust is not claimed. It is earned—one visit at a time.
It is an extraordinary responsibility to be trusted with someone else’s furkid and welcomed into their home. That is one reason people often turn first to friends, family, or neighbors: the trust already exists.
Professional caregivers must build that trust. We build it with every walk, every litter box scooped, every medication given correctly, every thoughtful journal, and every detail noticed. We build it with every gentle pat and every quiet moment spent waiting for a shy cat to decide it is safe to come out from under the bed. We build it each time we recognize that something is not quite right, communicate clearly, and take appropriate action. We build it when a last-minute emergency arises and we are able to step in so a pawrent can care for an elderly parent without worrying about who will care for the pets waiting at home.

We have spent years fostering animals and learning from furkids with different temperaments, histories, medical needs, and comfort levels. We have figured out how to organize dependable care for senior furkids whose senior pawrents can no longer walk their pups. We have built a team model so that care does not depend on a single person always being available. We train, communicate, document, and plan because dependable care should never be left to chance.
Our North Star is simple: every decision we make should increase a pet’s safety, strengthen a client’s trust, and reinforce our standard of care.
A business our clients chose to carry forward
In 2025, we made the difficult decision to leave the franchise system in which we had begun. We emerged as Always with Love Pet Care—a name that finally reflected what had been at the center of our work all along.
Our clients followed us. Some who missed the transition still find us today because they remember our names. They remember the people who cared for their furkids, the reassurance they felt while away, and the relationship built across years of visits.
That loyalty means more than we can adequately express. It affirmed that our business was never a logo or a franchise name. It was—and remains—the trust between our family, our care team, our clients, and their furkids.
Eighteen years—and generations of love
Always with Love Pet Care is not just a business to us. It is our passion. It is our life’s work. It has grown alongside our family and become woven into the community we serve.
Many longtime clients watched our daughter grow up through Michele’s Facebook page. For some, she was even their sitter for a time. Today, she is a pediatric nurse with a family of her own—and now many of those same clients get to watch her daughter grow up, too.
At the same time, we have cared for generations of pets within our clients’ families. We have been granted the sacred opportunity to say goodbye to beloved companions and, when the time was right, share in the joyful welcome of someone new. We remember the pets who came before. We understand the courage it takes to open your heart again. And we are honored each time a family invites us into the next chapter.
